Gwen and I are shown above in two of the nine rocking chairs I have made for family members. Together we have made many pieces for our home, our five daughter's homes, and also furniture for the grandchildren. I attempt to make each piece of furniture special either by using non-common woods or through some particular sentimental means. For instance, Gwen is sitting in one made from solid purpleheart and I am sitting in one made from a walnut tree my father cut in 1976.
We are retired from the nuclear facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where Gwen worked as an engineering draftsman utilizing CAD/CAM systems and I worked as a physicist. Today, most of our time is either spent in the shop or simply enjoying family pleasures.
